Jersey Girl is Moving Right Along

This Jersey Girl has been very busy over the last week.  I did an event to benefit Domestic Abuse Survivors last week.  A very close friend of my was nearly killed by her husband.  She was being honored at this event.  I went into the night without any expectations.  I really wanted to just support the cause.  I ended up never setting up the clothing but I have to say it was one of the most emotional and moving nights of my life.  To watch the transformation of my friend from being a victim to a survivor was unbelievable.  The event was also being filmed for Bravo and she sprang on me the last second that they were going to interview me.  To say I was nervous was an understatement.  I did the interview and I think it was okay, I did get a little choked up but all in all I think it went well.  I will let you guys know when it airs.
We have had a lot of new sales reps sign on with us over the last two weeks.. Each and everyone of these girls is bringing a lot to the table.  I am very excited to be working with all of them and I know they will all be successful.  It amazes me how many different personalities I have in the group and how people all have a different approach to the business.   It is really interesting to watch and really teaches me a lot.
We did the Red Bank Craft and Street fair last weekend and it was fabulous.  The weather couldn't have been better and the people were great.  It was also nice because it was so close to home and my husband was able to bring the kids down for a visit.
We have a very busy week ahead of us.. We have 5 parties this weekend in Monmouth and Ocean County.  We will also be doing a Street fair in Hackettstown.. If anyone wants to find us just message me and I will give you all the specifics.
On to my personal life.
I received a call on Sat night from my Sons teacher informing me that a car "drove through" the school and school would be closed on Monday.  Well today is Tuesday and they are not even sure if the school will open on Thursday.  Evidently an elderly couple drove through the side of the building, through two class rooms and into the gym.  There is an extensive amount of damage but THANK GOD there was no one in the building.  it has definitely thrown off our week having the 2 older ones home.
My "baby" who is 2 1/2 started school this week. I had been asking her if she wanted to go and she said no.  All of a sudden out of the blue she said "Momma i want to go to school"  so off she went.  She loves it, which I am happy about but I have to say I am a little sad to not have her home.
Things are really starting to get crazy between driving to school, picking up, dancing and now back to horseback riding.  I wouldn't have it any other way but it can be exhausting.
Last but not least my husband and I saw the move The Help last night.  It was a great movie.  I can't remember the last time I saw such a good movie and really made you think about people.  If you haven't seen it and have chance you should.
Well I am off to try and get everyone in bed
Hope everyone has a great week

What a Whirlwind Week

There is so much going on at Jersey Girl.  It seems now that everyone has gotten the kids off to school the phone is ringing off the hook.  It's very exciting to see that there are so many people out there interested in selling Jersey Girl Couture.  This has been a week of a lot of meetings and many phone calls.  I want to personally welcome the newest distributor, Laurie Sansone.  I was very impressed with her from the moment I spoke with her.  After meeting her we both knew she was a perfect fit for JGC.  I know that there will be great things to come adding her to the team.
Tonight also was the first JGC conference call.  I have to say I was a little nervous at first but it went really well. It was very nice to see all of the distributors made it onto the call.
We have a lot of upcoming events.  Next week we are doing a benefit for a Woman's Domestic Violence organization.  I have a very dear friend who is a true survivor and the organization is honoring her next Wed.  This is really such a wonderful organization that offers women not only hope and support but also helps them get on their feet.  I will keep you posted on the location and the time.
We are also booked at Centra State hospital October 13 to do a large vendor event they have that benefits Oncology and I believe Juvenile Diabetes.  This is supposed to be a terrific event and they are both great causes.  The only problem is I have to be there at 6 in the morning.  If you know me you know that this is terrible for me.

On to a personal note.
2 out of the 4 kids started school this week.  I don't know about you guys but I am a nervous wreck the first week.  As much as I was ready for them to go and  they were ready, I cried the whole way home leaving them.  I know they are 7 & 8 (almost 9 next week)  but I can't help myself.  I was so relieved when they got off that bus with huge smiles on their faces and tales of the wonderful teachers and friends that they had met.
My little guy had pre-school orientation today.  He is a Momma's boy.  I had to promise him I would not leave him there, which of course I didn't.  It is amazing how attached and shy he became over the summer.  I am really nervous how he will be on Monday.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will go in and not shed any tears.
My husband, Anthony and I ate at a wonderful restaurant today.  It think it was called L'Acqua it is in the Freehold Boro across from Rita's Italian ice.  The food was terrific.  I have to say probably the best Italian food I have had since I live in the area.  They are new so if you are in the area stop by they can use the business and you won't be disappointed.
I hope you all had a great week and for all of you mom's out there I hope all of your children did okay for their first week back to school
Have a great night

Jersey Girl Couture: Happy Labor Day Weekend

Happy Labor Day Weekend

This is actually my first Jersey Girl Couture Blog.  I am so excited to start doing this.  There are so many exciting things going on the JCG.  We took the whole summer to test market our products by doing street fairs and craft shows.  I have to say I have met a lot of wonderful customers along the way.  Being out on the front line really shows me what you guys like and what you don't.  It is really nice from the designing end to see peoples reaction to the clothing.  We also had our big debut with Zulily at the beginning of August.  In the short time since Jersey Girl was born we have been through a lot.  Down the road I will fill you on the drama that transpired when the company was first started.  You won't believe it when I tell.  The only thing I can say is never do business with "friends"  and I use the term loosely.  But on to bigger and better subjects.
Now that all the kiddies are gearing up to get back to school it is time to get down to business.  I am launching a really aggressive program to recruit sales people.  We are offering all new sales reps positions with no financial investment.  We are also doing a bonus in September to all the reps.  Any rep that you recruit in September you will receive a $50.00 signing bonus for each one.  Starting next week we will begin our weekly sales calls to keep all of the current reps and potential reps updated on what's new in regard to merchandise, what's coming in and what type of specials we have running.  It will also be a great time for the reps to ask questions and for everyone to share their feedback on what is going on in their business.  I am very excited to start this and i will let all the reps know what the date and time for the call will by the end of the weekend.

So on a personal note.. It was my birthday yesterday and I really had a fantastic day.  I went to Atlantic City the night before with 3 out of 4 kids and the hubby.  We had a gorgeous suite sitting on the Ocean.  The 5 of us went out to a great dinner and then Jerry took the kids to the room and rented movies while Mommy played.  We woke up and had Hooters for breakfast (before you ask no they don't serve breakfast we had buffalo shrimp).  Came home and spent the day with the rest of my family.  Today I took my kids and my niece down to the beach and met my Mom and sister.  The beach was beautiful.  I have to say I LOVE living by the water.  Not sure what we are doing the rest of the weekend but I have to try and get the kids to bed at some sort of reasonable time the next couple of days because they will be starting school on Tuesday.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and I will talk to you all later
XOXO
